I   first saw a corgi at age 17 and was enchanted! Many years later at 40, I was able to get my own, a male I named “Me Bucko”.  🙂 Even later, I entered the show ring and started breeding. This has become my overwhelming passion and delight, one I hope to continue for many years more. Vader is located halfway between the dog-friendly scenes of Seattle and Portland, giving us handy access to a variety of canine activities. We participate in Conformation, and have experimented with Herding and Barn Hunt. Producing a stellar example of the corgi breed is our goal and all breeding stock must pass health screening for hips, eyes, and genetic testing.

Our dogs are AKC registered and shown in AKC venues. We very much enjoy the show ring as an element of dog ownership, however; all of our puppies are hand-raised and personally invested in as companions and family members. When we place a puppy, our fondest desire is that it will be  an integral, permanent member of its new family.

Corgis have a long-standing tradition in managing livestock on farms- first in Wales, and now worldwide. They are a cheerful, engaging, intelligent, and attractive canine package. They are incredibly fun to have as a companion and personal pet, and while just taking an occasional walk with mom or dad is fine, they are capable of accomplishing so much more with their families! Herding, agility, and obedience are all excellent opportunities for you and your corgi. They fit in appropriate apartment settings, suburbs, and rural farms and ranches with gusto. They are an active, outgoing breed and anyone interested in having one should look forward to outdoor pursuits.
