I first saw a Pembroke Welsh Corgi at age 17 and was immediately captivated.  Many years later at 40, I was able to get my first, a male I named “Me Bucko”.  🙂 Even later, I entered the show ring and started breeding. This has become my overwhelming passion and delight, one I hope to continue for many years.

Vader is located halfway between the dog-friendly scenes of Seattle and Portland, giving us handy access to a variety of canine activities. We participate in Conformation and have experimented with Herding, Obedience, Barn Hunt, and Scent Work. Our dogs are AKC registered and shown. All of our breeding stock are vetted with health screening for hips, eyes, and genetic disease testing.  We very much enjoy the show ring as an element of dog ownership, however; all of our puppies are hand-raised and personally invested in as companions and family members. When we place a puppy, our greatest desire and goal is that it will be  an integral, permanent member of its new family.

Pembrokes have a long-standing tradition in managing livestock on farms- first in Wales, and now worldwide. They are an incredibly intelligent, talented canine package. Fun as a companion and personal pet taking an occasional walk with mom or dad, but also capable of accomplishing so much more! Herding, agility, scent work, and obedience are all excellent opportunities for you and your Pembroke. They fit in appropriate apartment settings, suburbs, rural farms, and ranches all with gusto. As an active, performance-related breed, anyone interested in having one should look forward to outdoor pursuits.
